Ten years ago, on All Saints Day, Catholic Women Preach launched with a simple, radical premise: the Gospel is more fully proclaimed, and the Church is more alive, when women's voices are uplifted and heard in the ministry of the Word. A decade and hundreds of preachers and reflections later, that premise has become a movement. So this All Saints Day, we're hosting a celebration worthy of ten silence-shattering years — and we're doing it the way we know best: by preaching.
Join us for a special All Saints Day Virtual Preaching Slam! We'll gather for a full Liturgy of the Word — music, prayer, and the readings of the day — and four extraordinary preachers, past contributors to CWP and dear friends of this community, will break open the texts and lift up a woman saint of their own choosing. It's the perfect way to mark a feast that's always been about the holiness in the ordinary and the everyday.
Breaking Open the Word:
- Kayla August, Doctoral Candidate in Theology and Education with a focus on preaching at Boston College's Clough School of Theology and Ministry
- Ann Garrido, award-winning author and one of the foremost teachers of the art and practice of preaching
- Cecilia González-Andrieu, Professor of Theology and Human Rights at Loyola Marymount University and past president of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States
- Kerry Alys Robinson, President and CEO of Catholic Charities USA
Ten years of raising voices and renewing the Church. Ten years of preaching that widens the table. Ten years of shattering the silence. Come celebrate with us!
