Dr. Phyllis Zagano — the leading scholar on women deacons and a member of Pope Francis’s first Pontifical Commission for the Study of the Diaconate of Women — sits down with FutureChurch Executive Director Russ Petrus for a wide-ranging conversation inspired by her newest book, The Vatican and Women Deacons (Orbis, 2026).
